South Lakeland Carers
Supporting People of any Age with Caring Responsibilities

The photograph shows Lindeth College volunteers receiving Volunteer Week Certificates from Steve Pollard, our Director, at a Carers Week Event, these wonderful young students, have been shopping, preparing food and running our monthly Carers Lunch Club for over a year.

We are very happy to welcome 3 new volunteers:

Barbara Magee has joined us as a trustee; she has long serving experience as a Carer, both in her family and in her community through the Church and Mothers Union, she has been a leader of 2 Mothers Union branches and a trustee for 6 years. We are sure to benefit from the skills and experience she brings to the organisation.

Rob has also joined us as volunteer for Young Carers groups and activities. He is going on the week residential to Skye this summer. Rob has a background in sport, photography and design. He has quickly joined in with much enthusiasm and is a great contribution to the team.

Young Carers attended a Fun Felt Making workshop run by Professional artist D.J. Rudhuysen who volunteered her time and materials. They made some wonderful bright and colourful pieces of art.

The contribution volunteers give to South Lakeland Carers is greatly appreciated, our volunteers say how enjoyable and rewarding the sitting and befriending volunteering is, we want to expand this service, if you are wondering if it might be something you could offer, please do get in touch.

There are also opportunities for volunteer drivers and admin support for Young Carers.
