Volunteering Opportunities

Sitting and Befriending (either by phone or visit)

These are two new services we are providing.

 

Volunteers are wanted to sit with the Cared For whilst the Carer -

 

goes shopping or for an appointment

has free time of their own, or

 

to offer Befriending support to the Carer

 

These services offer valuable emotional support and help in reducing isolation

 

The potential benefits to be gained from Mentoring and Befriending are wide ranging -

 

Improved skills in - 

Communication

Self confidence

Satisfaction from helping others

Insights into issues facing local people
